Synopsis:
SECRETS! Peter Parker attends a housewarming party thrown by Harry and Liz Osborn, where his secret identity nearly gets exposed. During the party, Peter’s spider-sense suddenly goes off with no visible threat. Later, at the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson confides in Marla Madison about his past involvement in creating the Scorpion — and now fears he’s being blackmailed. Meanwhile, Harry receives a mysterious letter and abruptly leaves the party, prompting Peter to follow. Harry confesses to Peter that his father was the Green Goblin and that someone is blackmailing him. Peter offers to help. The next day, they attend a secret meeting of wealthy men at the Century Club, including the Kingpin, Roderick Kingsley, and J. Jonah Jameson. The blackmailer is revealed to be the Hobgoblin, demanding money for their silence. Spider-Man intervenes but is ambushed when Hobgoblin releases a gas that dulls his spider-sense, allowing the villain to overpower him. The Kingpin unexpectedly protects Spider-Man from being killed, explaining that the Hobgoblin is bad for business. After Hobgoblin flees, the Kingpin revives Spider-Man and reveals he placed a spider-tracer on the villain. However, Spider-Man realizes that with his spider-sense dulled, he can no longer track it — possibly for good.
