Synopsis:

THE SPIDER OR THE MAN? Spider-Man is patrolling the streets of Manhattan looking for crime. Just when he thinks it is going to be a quiet night, he spots a bank robbery in progress and quickly stops the crooks. After wrapping them up in webbing, Spider-Man leaves them for the police. Watching the arrest, he wonders what it will take for New Yorkers to stop seeing him as a criminal. Returning to his apartment, Peter decides that he wants to spend the rest of his life with Gwen Stacy. With the constant danger of being Spider-Man, he concludes that for Peter Parker to live, Spider-Man must die. Peter creates a serum to strip himself of his spider powers and drinks it, feeling dizzy before falling asleep. He dreams of his guilt over Uncle Ben’s death, his life supporting Aunt May, and lost loves like Betty Brant, before remembering Gwen Stacy and her hatred of Spider-Man. In his dream, he battles classic foes—Vulture, Lizard, Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Kingpin—before meeting the spirit of Captain George Stacy, who urges Peter to continue his heroic path, calling it both a blessing and a curse. Peter awakens to find the serum has gone wrong: he’s grown four additional arms.
