Synopsis:
Iceman, Lorna Dane, Angel and Havok are arrested by Sentinels and their leader Larry Trask. Beast, Marvel Girl and Cyclops are looking for them using a mini-Cerebro machine. When they finally find the villain's HQ, they are attacked by a missile but manage to escape. Meanwhile, inside the factory, the Sentinels arrest Larry Trask because he is also a mutant—his medallion had blocked his abilities and masked him from detection.
On a monitor, the Sentinels are seen capturing Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Toad, Blob, Mastermind, and Unus. Just as the Sentinels are about to kill all their captives, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, and Beast infiltrate their HQ. Disguised as Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Toad, they attempt to outwit the Sentinels. Larry Trask’s mutant powers manifest, revealing a vision of Havok’s death. He urges Judge Chalmers to use a strange pistol on Havok.
Beast and Jean hold off the Sentinels to allow Cyclops to reach the prison chamber. A Sentinel is about to blast Cyclops when Judge Chalmers intervenes, prompting the Sentinels to re-prioritize protecting the injured human. Cyclops then frees Havok, who is overwhelmed by his own power. Cyclops convinces the Sentinels that they must destroy the source of all mutation—not mutants themselves—causing them to fly into the Sun and be destroyed. In the aftermath, Havok is left in shock, and the X-Men call on Dr. Lykos, a friend of Professor Xavier, to help him recover.
