Synopsis:
IF THIS BE DOOMSDAY! With Galactus on Earth, the Watcher tries to appeal to the planet eater to leave Earth alone. When diplomacy fails, Johnny and Thing attack Galactus to no effect. The Watcher sends them back to base, promising to contact them soon. Meanwhile, the Silver Surfer regains consciousness from the Thing's punch and falls into Alicia Master's apartment. Alicia offers the Surfer sympathy and assistance, planting seeds of doubt about his mission. Galactus continues assembling his planet-devouring device, while the Watcher explains to the Fantastic Four the dire consequences if Galactus succeeds. The Watcher reveals a weapon aboard Galactus' ship that the Human Torch must retrieve. Back at Alicia's, she appeals to the Surfer to help humanity. Initially hesitant, he begins to feel pity for humans. As the FF attack Galactus' device, he sends his Punisher robot to stop them. Using the distraction, the Watcher boosts Johnny's powers so he can reach the ship. Alicia finally convinces the Surfer to defy Galactus, and he sets off to confront his master.
