Synopsis:
(MID)AMERICAN GOTHIC!
While considering a job offer at On-Line Research in Kansas, Peter Parker uncovers strange events, including an explosion averted by construction boss Wes Cassidy—who turns out to have gained super-speed from a jackrabbit bite. Meanwhile, a disgruntled scientist, Dr. Royce Nero, dons experimental tech and attacks the facility. Spider-Man battles Nero but gets no help from Cassidy, who’s afraid to get involved. After defeating Nero, Peter encourages Wes to consider using his powers for good.
Back in New York, Silver Sable recruits Sandman for a mission, while Peter returns home to discuss the job offer with Mary Jane. She reveals she can’t leave her career behind, leaving them both uncertain about the future.
