Synopsis:
"Showdown!" With the X-Men imprisoned in his Antarctic base, Magneto intensifies his acts of terror on the human world. However, unbeknownst to him, Storm has found a way to free the X-Men, and they are now an organized fighting force, ready to take Magneto on. Cyclops leads the team in a coordinated attack. In the final moments, as Magneto's fortress collapses, only Magneto, Jean, and Beast manage to escape the explosion. Jean's heroic efforts cause her to pass out, and Beast tries to carry her through the snow, but ultimately collapses as well. This issue also includes flashbacks of Storm’s training in Cairo, where she learned various skills like stealing and escaping from ropes and chains.
