A gray-furred creature attacks a security guard outside a genetic research lab — but the “creature” is Hank McCoy, the Beast, transformed by his own mutation experiments. Realizing he can never return to his human form, Hank recalls his departure from the X-Men and his work at the Brand Corporation. As he develops a romantic relationship with Linda Donaldson, Hank’s research uncovers dangerous secrets, leading to a betrayal by Professor Maddicks and setting the stage for his new life as the Beast.
