Synopsis:
The X-Men battle Proteus in the streets of Edinburgh, where he possesses the body of his father and holds his mother, Moira MacTaggert, captive. Using his reality-warping powers, Proteus turns the city into a chaotic battlefield. Cyclops commands the team to weaken him, ordering Storm to attack, but Proteus traps her in a crystal—forcing Wolverine to intervene.
Banshee strikes Proteus but is thrown into a massive hole. Nightcrawler dives in to save him, nearly perishing in the process until Polaris rescues them. Phoenix then takes the fight to Proteus but is overpowered. Finally, Wolverine slashes Proteus with his adamantium claws. Severely weakened from the combined attacks and the metal's unique properties, Proteus is unable to sustain his form any longer.
