Synopsis:
As Proteus prepares to deliver a fatal blow to Storm, Moira MacTaggert intervenes, driving him off with a rifle loaded with iron bullets. After regrouping, Cyclops initiates a sparring session with the X-Men to assess their mental and emotional readiness following their encounter with the reality-warping mutant—especially Wolverine, who was visibly shaken by the experience. For the first time, Wolverine acknowledges Cyclops’s leadership.
The X-Men track Proteus to Edinburgh, where he is hunting down his father, Joe MacTaggert—Moira’s estranged husband. Just as the team arrives, Proteus kills his father and possesses his body, setting the stage for a climactic final showdown.
